copying columns with MYSQL

anybody know how to copy all the data from one column in a table to another column within the same table? In other words, I need the same data to be in two different columns, and I’m starting out with one column that already has the data and another column that’s empty, and I want to copy the data to the empty column so both columns have the data. thanks!
