Copying form Word to WordPress

  • I am copying a trial transcript. When a question is asked, the question line starts with a Q. as in:

    Q. And what did you do then?

    When I copy this and paste it into WordPress, I get an ordered list and the number 1. (if I try to reproduce it here, all I get is the #1)

    So, I have to copy from Word into Notepad, which removes all the formatting including the spacing between the Q. and A. and I have to go down line by line, hitting enter. Is there a way around this?

    Don’t paste content from MS Word into WP as the pasted text will also contain Word’s own formatting. Instead, try pasting your text into NotePad (or another text editor) first, then copy from NotePad into WordPress.
