Copying full text of posts to tumblr/facebook/etc via Publicize?

    I’d like to have Publicize share the full text of my posts to Tumblr, Facebook, G+, etc, instead of an excerpt of some arbitrary length.

    Is this possible? Can we get a switch for this someday? I’m perfectly happy with not driving people to read the full text of post on my site and letting them make comments on the external service.

    Hi! How long are your posts? This is not something that will likely be possible, as those services all have maximum lengths for posting.

    All I can really say is ‘longer than the tiny excerpt that gets posted to other sites and less than the 64k limit that Google suggests WordPress has’. 10k at most as a ballpark estimate.

    Google also suggests that FB’s maximum post length is ~63k, and G+’s is 1M, and gives me no clue about Tumblr’s limit. I’m pretty sure it’s longer than the, what, 1k that gets excerpted? (Unless they have some stupidly annoyingly low maximum that kicks in on stuff posted via API…)

    Is there any update to the enhancement request above?

    @rhondabroich — If there is an update, it will be added to the enhancement request itself for everyone to see.

    In this case, it seems like this request has been added to our plate for our next round of improvements to Publicize, though I can’t say when that will be completed.
