Copy/Paste from another website and most of the copy disappears? help please?

Hello, I had an old blog on blogger.com and I have been trying to move over old posts to my new wordpress blog but am having trouble which I hope someone can help me with! When I try and copy/paste the copy and hit SAVE DRAFT, MOST of the copy disappears. Sometimes almost all of the copy. Sometimes the last sentence. Nothing is consistent. I have tried to delete the post and start a new one with no avail. This happens if I am trying to copy something from another website (A recipe for instance). It doesn’t happen with all the posts and I can’t see a pattern. At this rate I’ll be in the funny farm before I get everything copied over. If anyone has any advice, I’d appreciate it so much! TIA!
