    Hello,

The Core integrity on Sucuri Security says that wp-admin/admin-ajax.php has been modified. I chose the option to “restore file(s) content”, but it makes no difference. Next, I restored the file from the WordPress stock file. How do I find what the change is (or how do I restore the file)?

    Thanks!

The restore function tries to replace the content of the file with the code found in the official public releases of WordPress, there were some incompatibilities with non-English sites but I fixed them all months ago. So I think the issue here is that the file has not write permissions and the plugin is not able to replace its content.

You can solve this manually using a text editor, open the file and replace its content with the official code from here [1], change the version number in the URL if your site is not based on 4.0.

It turns out the file was somehow re-owned to root. I’ve chown’d it to my web server user and the plugin was able to restore it.

    Thanks for the help!
