Core web vitals: Astra performs bad
-
Hi,
I noticed in my Google search console that my website with the Astra theme performs very bad for the CLS (cumulative layout shift) metric of the new Google Core Web Vitals.
Upon investigating I found the issue is because the inline CSS has different values than the CSS file, resulting in layout shifts where e.g. the line height or font size changes while the page is loading.
See https://i.imgur.com/KEd0w8m.png for one example where the H3 font size is defined 3 times.
My questions are:
- Why are CSS parameters defined multiple times in different files (inline and in the css file)?
- Any plans to fix this very soon?
Thanks!
PS: The core web vitals kinda is the new page speed and is a Google ranking factor.
