    Hi

I was glad to discover the Autoptimize app. My site is still local and I am a new blogger with limited tech skills and no coding experience. Although I have corrected the CCS error, I am still getting the note from the Google Test that I have to Eliminate Render-Blocking JavaScript above the fold.

When I check Force JS in Head or Also Aggregate Inline JS, I lose portions of my site’s functionality (carousel/slider).

I read the plugin FAQ for this issue and I have disabled Minify on Javascript for W3 Cache plugin. After this, when I select Force JS in Head alone or with Also Aggregate Inline JS, I lose site functionality but speed score increases.

When I select only Also Aggregate Inline JS, speed score improves, site still seems to maintain functionality but I still have the Javascript message.

Any recommendation one what I can do next? And if it requires code can you be as explicit as possible? I need to know what goes where, etc.

    Thanks!
    Hotcup

by default jquery.js is excluded from JS optimization, which in most cases is needed. I guess that’s the JS google test is complaining about. you can try removing js/jquery/jquery.js from the JS optimization exclusion list and test your site. if anything’s borken, you’ll have to roll back the change.

    hope this helps,

HI Frank, when you say “roll back the change” do you mean to add it back to the exclusions list if your suggestion doesn’t work?
