• Hi Everyone,

I seem to have just corrpted my wordpress database some how?

I deleted a multisite called /test/ which has resulted in the root site being effected. When I try to repair the database it fails on the following

    wordp_wp_comments: Table ‘fishingguidedenmark_dk_db.wordp_wp_comments’ doesn’t exist
    wordp_wp_links: Table ‘fishingguidedenmark_dk_db.wordp_wp_links’ doesn’t exist
    wordp_wp_options: Table ‘fishingguidedenmark_dk_db.wordp_wp_options’ doesn’t exist
    wordp_wp_postmeta: Table ‘fishingguidedenmark_dk_db.wordp_wp_postmeta’ doesn’t exist
    wordp_wp_terms: Table ‘fishingguidedenmark_dk_db.wordp_wp_terms’ doesn’t exist
    wordp_wp_term_taxonomy: Table ‘fishingguidedenmark_dk_db.wordp_wp_term_taxonomy’ doesn’t exist
    wordp_wp_term_relationships: Table ‘fishingguidedenmark_dk_db.wordp_wp_term_relationships’ doesn’t exist

Did you delete a MULTISITE or a site on your network?

Yes I deleted a site called /test/ but it was not the root site? Now I cannot get into the root site or network admin?

Why would this cause the root site to be deleted?

How did you delete the site? Throught the Network admin menu? Did you modify your wp-config.php file?

No I deleted it through the Network admin interface? They way you would normally delete a site?

I have never seen that before. Are you using some special plugins? Just wondering if one of them caused the problem. We have deleted dozens of sites from our system with no ill effect.

I have also deleted hundreds of sites before but this is the first time I have deleted a site that has also deleted the root site? It’s as if the test site and root site have the same site ID in the database?

No special plugins… Just the standard stuff…

I have just had the database restored by my webhost, but am wondering how I should now delete this test site?

    Has anyone got any ideas?

    Thanks!

    Were the tables actually missing?

I’d make a backup and try it again personally.

Yes they were… The tables had been deleted? It is a little scary deleting another site can impact the root site in this way.

I will give it ago again… soon!

Well that’s why you make a backup ??

It’s MOST likely a plugin doing something stupid. Turn off all plugins on the test site and, possibly, the primary site.
