Corrupt Theme with a dash of senior moment
-
I installed the blueprintq-draft theme on a website thinking I was working in our test site which of course I wasn’t. This theme creates this error message Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /websites/123reg/LinuxPackage22/bo/rn/2t/born2tri.com/public_html/wordpress/wp-content/themes/blueprintq-draft/functions.php on line 12
So because I thought I was working in the test domain I deleted the theme from the back end directory, was just going to trash the site and start again, rather than through the admin panel. I know there is a way of pointing the theme to another one by editing the utility.php file in the corrupt theme (functions/library/utility.php) however because the theme files are not there and I cannot log in to the admin panel because the corrupt theme is blocking it I am totally stuck. I can of course log into the back end control panel and could feasibly copy the corrupt theme files back in if I knew where to get them from then edit the utility.php file but if anyone can help a dumb ‘senior’ to sort this out I would be very grateful.
At this point I wouldn’t blame your for thinking some people should just not be let loose with websites and wordpress and I wouldn’t blame you. This is a senior moment and then some on top with an ice cream glaze but I am the only webmaster for this site since no one else wants to do it so I have to just do my best and sometimes I get it wrong, big style! Please lovely WordPress people help!
