Your functions.php file is being changed because your site has bene hacked and is infected with malware.

Much needed information!

Trash the site and start again. If you have backups then revert to the last known clean back up. If your host can help ask them to. They will be happy to help to keep their servers clean.

if all that fails, start again, and remember to keep backups all the time!!!

I’ve had the same error on a site that I’m working on (chicktime.com).

I ran the site through

It came up empty for viruses. The host (who had no idea what the error was) also ran a virus scan and didn’t find anything. Anybody know what this could possibly be? Thanks!
