Corrupt wordpress

  • Hi.
    These sites are on the same web hotel and all have gotten the same problems:
    afnykoping.se
    eestimaja.se
    ewesmark.se
    fernstromsab.se
    piafdressyr.se
    visage-hudvard.se

    When logging in it is clear that some of the wordpress design features have been removed. When working with the backend I cannot delete nor change any of the menys since the option to do this is not there anymore. It is not possible to press one of the menu items.
    When placing the cursor over one of the options in the backend side panel menu there should be a dropdown menu that automatically falls out. On these sites it does not.

    I have been in contact with the web hotel but they cannot help me. They say it has something to do with the database.

    I have been forced to rebuild the sites from scratch, remove everything and install wordpress again – a job that is pretty time consuming.

    Have anybody any idea what is going on and how I can fix this?

    i have tried to update the wordpress files but it does not seem to help

  • First double check that your site(s) weren’t hacked. You can do this by using https://sitecheck.sucuri.net/ to review your sites.

    Next, make sure to make (and test) regular backups of your site(s) in case you need to fall back to a known “working” state. Make sure these backups include a backup of the database.

    And finally, make sure your web hosting plan provides enough resources for the needs of your sites – sometimes issues crop up with WordPress because you run into the limitations and constraints of your hosting plan – although these constraints tend to be more “performance” related.

    I would also suggest taking a look at your server logs to see if there are any clues of what might be happening. Are there any database errors? Any PHP errors?
