• I owe Nicholas an apology. I original flagged this plugin with 1 star for what appeared to be an artifact left behind from the plugin — where I was stuck in a 404 error loop. It turned out to be an oversight on my part and was a Varnish cache issue.

Upon further evaluation, this plugin was the solution I needed to make client sites private while offering flexibility. It is lightweight, simple and does what it claims to do.

The take-away from this is 1. Check your caches if you need to remove. 2. Adding that tip to documentation would be helpful for others evaluating before deciding.

So, in addition to the apology, this deserves a 5-star rating.

You can disable WPS Hide Login by renaming the folder directly from your FTP /wp-content/plugins/wps-hide-login.

But I doubt very much that the 404 redirect problem comes from the WPS Hide Login plugin.

I advise you to rename them one by one and refresh your page to see which plugin is causing this problem.

Updated my rating and description. You were not at fault. Apologies for the misunderstanding. – Best!
