Cost of Goods field for Products

I’m surprised woocommerce doesn’t come with the cost of goods for a product in the main part of the program. I see there is an add-on you can buy, but I’m kind of surprised this option is not built in. Doesn’t everybody need this? Also, in terms of reporting and exporting the product fields to an csv file, it doesn’t look like the data export programs currently available would pick up on the cost of goods field either. Wish I knew enough to write my own add on because the cost field, plus exporting all the sales data (list and sale price) would be immensely useful.
