Could be awesome, but advertised as free

I was looking on the Internet for some awesome widgets to add to my website and I found this plugin in a lot of places. All saying that most widgets are free (or those I want to use are free). But when I finally installed the plugin, most of the awesome widgets (including those which were advertised as free) weren’t free at all. The price is not that high, but the fact it was said to be free made me suspicious.
