Could not create directory during plugin update

    Had a couple update notifications for some plugins and when I run those updates I get a failed message “Could not create directory. /public_html/blog/wp-content/plugins/updraftplus/” then it drops in a .maintenance file that I have to delete.

    This is out of the blue and I haven’t installed any new plugins or changed anything else.

    Any thoughts?

    Everything was fine until 4.4

    That doesn’t mean that your hosting provider didn’t make a change to your server.

    Currently, you’re the only one I have seen reporting this exact problem, so I’m not confident it’s strictly a problem introduced by 4.4.

    Finally got all the 4.4.1 files uploaded correctly and now all the plugins update correctly as well. So, not the server but something wonky in 4.4

    Basically did a manual copy of all the new files and then ran the upgrade.php file.

    back everything up first!! Make a dir on your server and copy everything over. If something gets hosed you can rename the directory and be back up and running quickly.

    Hi there,

    I was updating my plugin,But i can’t..The following Error will be displayed in blue color.
    Update failed:could not create a directory.wbls-modulus/public/images/prettyphoto/dark_rounded/

    Currently i’m using WP latest Version..

    Anyone solve my problem
