Could not create snippet. Request failed with status code 418

@brandojp How was talking to Dreamhost? I have a VPS contracted with them and I have this same error.

I have the same problem. Also on Dreamhost VPS.

I’m on Dreamhost VPS as well and seeing this same problem. Any word on a fix? If the issue needs to be addressed by Dreamhost, what do we need to be requesting from them exactly?

Unfortunately, I personally do not use DreamHost so it might rely on @jrvcosta to provide a solution for how they fixed this.

It seems similar to previous reports which have had to do with a security feature blocking the snippet saving requests – often to do with the use of Apache’s modsec or CloudFlare.

I was never able to solve this issue! Not even with the help of Dreamhost support. I also believe it has to do with a security feature used by Dreamhost – and which they don’t easily disable for their own grounds.

Today – for other reasons – I use another hosting provider where the error no longer happens.

I fixed it. I noticed my snippet, a code recipe from Paid Memberships Pro, was basically two parts. I suspect that could be the heart of the acceptance problem.

I asked ChatGPT to divide the PHP into 2 files for use in Snippet, and to tell me the priority settings.

All good now. I’m also on Dreamhost VPS, btw.
