In my case, refund went through but my client got confused because of this error message:

https://ibb.co/x2HF6KhThis is a major problem that can lead to a lot of confusion for shop owners and customers. Overall, it is just a bad user experience and can cause great trouble if store owners try to issue the refund again and again.
I would suggest at least disabling the refund button when this error is returned so that owners don’t issue multiple refunds. And then try to fix the underlying problem. I believe Vivek (@vipelabs) has already pointed out the problem nicely.
