    Hello @tamas1989 and @99dresses

Thank you for your reports. We have reported an issue that seems to be what you are experiencing here: https://github.com/woocommerce/facebook-for-woocommerce/issues/2148

Please would you take a look at that issue, and let me know if this is what you are experiencing. If so, one person who commented on the issue said that they were able to workaround the issue by installing the Facebook for WordPress plugin, and using that to connect their site to their Facebook Business account.

It may be worth trying this workaround.

    Hi @tamas1989

    Thanks for your response.

Can you please confirm if the error comes up for you when connecting for the first time or after you disconnected and tried to reconnect (as the bug report indicates)?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Hey @tamas1989,

Since this has happened when trying to reconnect, looks like you’re being affected by the bug mentioned above:

    * https://github.com/woocommerce/facebook-for-woocommerce/issues/2148

This thread has already been added to the issue so the developers are aware of it.

We are actively tracking this bug which is affecting users who are trying to reconnect Facebook.

I suggest you follow that GitHub issue so you get updated about any new information.

Once it is cleared up, you should be able to reconnect without issue.

    Yes,
What I don’t understand why I don’t find in siteurl/wp-admin/options.php the wc_facebook_external_business_id is mising from my site.

After the first error, I went to siteurl/wp-admin/options.php and changed the wc_facebook_external_business_id field to a random string of 13 characters.

    Hello @tamas1989

It is not showing on the options.php page?

If you are familiar to working with the DataBase for WordPress, the wc_facebook_external_business_idcan be found there.

You can access PHPMyAdmin to review this. If you are not familiar, you can ask your host for access.

    Hello @nathvi

Is not their all what I have is:
    wpwa_wc_admin_notes
    wpwa_wc_admin_note_actions
    wpwa_wc_category_lookup
    wpwa_wc_customer_lookup
    wpwa_wc_download_log
    wpwa_wc_order_coupon_lookup
    wpwa_wc_order_product_lookup
    wpwa_wc_order_stats
    wpwa_wc_order_tax_lookup
    wpwa_wc_product_meta_lookup
    wpwa_wc_rate_limits
    wpwa_wc_reserved_stock
    wpwa_wc_tax_rate_classes
    wpwa_wc_webhooks`

But I cheack also for another site where the plugin is working and olso theier is missing the wc_facebook_external_business_id

Hi Tamas. Thanks for the additional information.

Is not their all what I have is:
    wpwa_wc_admin_notes
    wpwa_wc_admin_note_actions
    wpwa_wc_category_lookup
    wpwa_wc_customer_lookup

    wpwa_wc_rate_limits
    wpwa_wc_reserved_stock
    wpwa_wc_tax_rate_classes
    wpwa_wc_webhooks

It looks like these are WooCommerce-specific tables. Going by the table names above, the wc_facebook_external_business_id item would be in wpwa_options. No wc in the table name. Does that help you track it down?

Great! In that case, the only issue is the one in the GitHub issue, which, unfortunately, is as yet unresolved. Feel free to follow the issue above for progress on this.

This error is driving me nuts!

I disconnected my FB for WooCommerce plugin today because I was having some problems and wanted to start from scratch (or close to the beginning). Unfortuntely, when I tried to reconnect, I got the same error message that’s been listed above:

Could not retrieve Facebook Business Extension System User

I’ve cleared caches. I’ve deleted system users and the plugin and reinstalled it. No luck.

    Please help

    UPDATE:

About 20 minutes later, I got it to work but in a very roundabout way. I installed the Facebook for WordPress app (as recommended above). That still wouldn’t connect me. But then I went back into my shop and clicked on publish updates. And that made the shop appear in FB again (I’ve never been able to get it approved for Instagram). Anyhow, once it showed up on FB, I tried the connection between FB and WooCommerce and it finally went through without the error message. It still seems a little off, but I guess it works for now.

Related: I just wish I could get IG shopping approved. That’s the whole reason I disconnected and tried to reconnect. What a mess. As a test, last week I tried to connect a new Shopify shop and a new WooCommerce shop to FB/IG. The Shopify shop is now live on both FB/IG without much heavy lifting. The WooCommerce shop is only on Facebook. :-/

    Hello @missadventures,

Glad you’ve been able to get the connection between FB and WooCommerce working.

Regarding your question about connecting your WooCommerce shop to Instagram, At the moment, Instagram shopping/checkout support is not available through the Facebook for WooCommerce extension. Please refer to the documentation to learn more.

    Hi @missadventures
How you go back into your shop and clicked on publish updates?
I want also to try this to solve my problem.
