• Hi!

I want to move WP site from one host to another. On the first host i downloaded the restore script and extracted to new host. On new host i install WP nad xcloner plugin and have some problems with xcloner_restore.php. When i provide url and check connection, a warning comes up: Could not run restore script, AUTH_KEY doesn’t match the sent HASH!

Any idea how to fix it?

  • You can do a remote restore from your original site by providing the restore url on that site, if you want to restore from your new host, you need to download the restore script from there. Hope it helps!

I am having the same problem.

How can I download the restore script from my new host when xcloner is not installed on the new host? I wanted to restore the backup without installing a new version of wordpress first.

I understand that a remote restore can be done from the original site, but I want to be able to restore from a remotely saved backup in case I want to move the site to a new server or the old server is not available for a remote restore.

I also do a lot of cloning of sites from my local server to a production server and vice versa, so the local server is not available for a remote restore from the original server.

Hopefully you can understand what I would like to do.

You could try and setup a wordpress install just for running restores, can be on your localhost machine. You can move your backups there and launch a restore to any target point.

For security purposes, the xcloner restore script can only be accessed from the location it was downloaded from, it does not have an interface of it’s own as it’s just an api for the moment.
