I’m getting this error when I’m trying to update the firewall settings: “Could not write to the .htaccess file. Please check the file permissions.”

The funny thing is, I’m on a windows IIS7 2008 R2 machine….sooooo, there is no .htaccess file. Does aiowps not support Windows?

Thank you for the help, time and effort in advance!

P.S. The ‘users’ group has write rights to the web.config.

Hi, if your server is running Windows you will need to find the alternative for any security feature in the plugin that writes to .htaccess file.

I’m sorry, could you be more specific about what it means to ‘find the alternative for any security feature in the plugin’ please?

Hi, you can check the following URL translate-htaccess-content-to-iis-webconfig but there are many sites online that can also help you.

Right, translating htaccess rules is built into IIS7 and above, if you install the rewrite module. My question is, can you point to a reference that will allow me to translate those rules that AIOWPS actually creates?

    Example:
    1. Forbid proxy comments posting, the .htaccess rule is….

Then, I could take those rules and translate them. If I don’t know the rules, how can I translate them?

Unfortunately I don’t use IIS servers for my websites. You would have to investigate yourself searching via Google or Bing just like I did above.

    Sorry about this.

No problem. Thanks for the quick responses. If the author added native IIS support. I would buy an enterprise license.

    Thanks again!
