    Hello,
I resolved this myself but just in case there is a specific cause, or if there are people like myself coming here to find a solution, I thought I should post.

I hadn’t visited my site since wordpress auto-updated to 4.7.3, yesterday for me, but I went to post a few minutes ago and got an error message.

I’m sorry I didn’t copy it, but it was very similar to this:
    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/warning-and-fatal-error-with-jetpack-1/
(At least the missing files and error on line 6)

I had to disable jetpack through ftp, then log back into wp-admin dashboard and found Jetpack needed updating. Well, my message was that a plugin called “v 4.7” needed updating, on the plugins page it displayed as “jetpack” as per usual.

On the scale of things this was minor except I now have no idea how long my site was down as jetpack was unable to send me emails.

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

Thanks for the report! It appears that the plugin update didn’t complete properly, and left you with a directory missing some files.

I’m glad you could figure things out. Don’t hesitate to post again here if it happens again!
