    Hello,

Is there anyway to fix this? The sitemap index was uploaded successfully to the Google Search Console. But it says “Couldn’t fetch” and then once clicked “Sitemap could not be read” for all of the authors, posts and pages within the sitemap. Nothing has been changed, all left on default.

Sitemap	Last read	Status	Discovered URLs
    https://www.example.co.uk/newssitemap.xml	Oct 8, 2022	1 error	1
    https://www.example.co.uk/sitemap-files/xml/archive/oldarchive/1/	Oct 8, 2022	Success	298
    https://www.example.co.uk/sitemap-files/xml/archive/recentarchive/1/	Oct 8, 2022	Success	2
    https://www.example.co.uk/sitemap-files/xml/authors/authors/1/ Couldn't fetch	0
    https://www.example.co.uk/sitemap-files/xml/posts/affiliate-link/1/ Couldn't fetch	0

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks,
    M

    Hi @chiefochiefo

This Sitemap seems generated with another plugin, because our plugin does not create any subdirectories/urls like /sitemap-files/. Please check are there any other Sitemap or SEO plugins on your website.

Here is correct example from our plugin: https://wpgrim.net/sitemap.xml

    Best regards
