Couldn’t post topic with bbpress extension

I’ve just spent the last few hours trying to work out why my user could not post a topic on my bbpress forums. Eventually found this little nugget when searching this forum:

If a user is member of multiple groups, then the priority will be of the first group’s bbPress settings joined by the user. So, if the forum tab setting is enabled for the first group the user joined, then the forum tab will display on the user’s profile.

My users were automatically being enrolled in the “Default User Group” before I added them to the groups I wanted to add them to. Turns out this group did not have topic creation allowed! Enabled that and all is well.

Just adding to save anyone else wasted hours.
