On the first load count.js file takes over 5s to load on my homepage, significantly slowing down the loading time on the website. Could you recommend a solution for this?

    Hi Sally,

No, we had to completely delete the plugin.

    Best,

Sadly, same here, though it’s on every page load.

Only option seems to be to deactivate the plugin.

We have an example of disabling the comment count script if needed, which you can find here: https://github.com/disqus/disqus-wordpress-plugin/#custom-filters

However, the script should not be taking 5 seconds to load. Is it possible to share a link where you are seeing the issues, or possibly any screenshots of the network tab showing the slowness?

@disqus you can see this behavior on my site https://shogo.eu/blog/
It doesn’t always happen but sometimes it takes up to 8 seconds to load that file.

Thanks for the example. We found an issue that was causing the load time of that file to be high in certain scenarios. We’ve just deployed a fix on our end and will be monitoring to ensure we don’t see a regression. Please let us know if you are seeing things improve on your end.

We’ve been monitoring for the past 16 hours and things are still looking good on our end. Please let us know if you are still seeing issues.
