Countdown Timer messed up

Tested this but the countdown timer defaulted to a a period of 4 weeks, even when I tried to reset. Also, while having an array of templates to choose from is nice, it is time consuming to set up. May be a good option for “under construction” for a long term project, but I simple want an “Under Maintenance” splash screen for when I am performing site upgrades. I don’t think this is a good choice for that task.
