Counter jumps up by 5

Hi,
I am using Page View Counts version 1.4.0 and I noticed something strange.
Every time I visit a page or a post, the counter jumps up by 5.
Also if 1 person visit the site, the counter also jumps up by 5.
Why is this and how can I fix this easy.
Or should I look for a different counter ?Many thanks for your tips and tricks.
