Counting and limiting number of participants

    Is it possible to define a maximum number of participants for a field?

    I have something like planning a party in mind: I want three ppl to bring cakes, five ppl to bring chips, 20 for beer, everyone a steak and one with a bbq grill… ??
    If someone signs up for the grill no other should be able to choose this option. I hope you get the picture.

    I understand and there is a plugin API that includes a validation callback that allows you to create a custom validation function. Your function could be in a separate plugin or in your theme functions file. Basically your function would look at the incoming values from a form submission and give a valid or not response. You would check the incoming value against the already stored values in the database. It’s also possible to create a custom error message if the field is invalid.
