Counting Facebook likes, not shares

My site is https://atma.hr/

I will create a option for the next update so you can decide if you only like to see the FB shares and not the total counts.

As a workaround change in mashsharer/includes/sharedcount.class.php
on line 26

$counts['shares']['fb'] = $sharecounts['Facebook']['total_count'];

to

$counts['shares']['fb'] = $sharecounts['Facebook']['share_count'];

do the same at line 40

I just did that but no change.

I tried deactivating and reactivating the plugin and also tried enabling the Delete DB Cache but still no change…

Actually on newer posts I can see some change but on older ones not. Maybe I just have to wait a bit longer?

i have to fix something in code with the next update. At the moment current shares are not reduced and the delete cache function is not working properly because i changed the way how shares are stored in previous version.

This is solved in latest version. Try it out.

Unfortunatelly I’m still getting Total Count.

I’ve selected ‘Only share counts’ and deleted DB Cache but still it’s the same. Check it out in a link below for example. There should be cca 100 shares, and 579 likes. But share count shows 572 shares.

Thanks for the effort and things look way better now, but I still dont’ think that these are the real numbers.

It’s important for me because I’m paying some authors per share.

Especially this post https://atma.hr/laboratorij-inspiracije-davorka-vladovic/ shows 148 shares and I remember that there were not more than 14 shares on FB. Sadly I can’t find the shared post on FB timeline anymore…

Looks correct for me:-)

If you find more articles where the shares are not accurate enable the mashare debug cache options for this page, or let the options activated for an hour or so. The shares should be “repaired” in the meantime than.
