When I updated to the latest version of the plugin I was notified of the need to coutn internal links. I didn’t really want to do this and tried to delete the notification by clicking on the cross next to it. This did nothing. It seems impossible to delete this notification.

Since I don’t like having red flag warnings in my WP dashboard I eventually decided to do want the plugin wanted me to and let it count my internal links – so I clicked OK. It started counting and basically never stopped. I tried 6 times, the last time I left it running for 4 days. It still never completed and the counter was in the many thousands.

This feature does not seem to work. I don’t need this feature. How can I get rid of the notification?

    Thanks

  • Same thing here, it starts, yet it stops arround 25-35 links counted and never ends. Please help,

@plan9 You can disable the Text Link Counter feature under “SEO > Dashboard > Features”

@dandr69 If you have a similar issue, can you please open a new request? That way it’s easier to track issues and provide assistance. Thanks!

@monbauza I already tried disabling the text link feature under “SEO > Dashboard > Features” – but the notification / nag still remains.

@dandr69 your issue seems to be different as your counter hangs. Mine does not, it simply never stops counting.

We are not sure why the notification is not dismissible in the SEO->Dashboard section. You should be able to click the “x” for it and make it resolve. We would like some more information.

? Does the issue resolve if you clear your cache and cookies? These guides explain more:?How to clear my browser’s cache??and? How to Clear my Cookies?
? Does the issue resolve if you use a different browser such as Chrome or FireFox?
? Does the issue resolve if you use another device such as another computer, tablet, or mobile phone?
? If you have any browser plugins, does disabling them resolve the issue?

    Let us know.

@pcosta88 I managed to get it working. I deactivated the plugin and reverted back to the previous version. I then ran the upgrade again to the latest version. Now everything works as expected – the links are counted successfully and notifications can be dismissed.

    Thanks.
