State drop-down not working since 3.6.0

    After I have updated to 3.6.0, in the checkout page, the state field is not a drop-down anymore, but it is replace with a text filed.

    The big issue is that now you cannot complete an order, as the state filed doesn’t update after input, and clients can’t choose a delivery option.

    Tried 3.6.1, same problem. I have reverted back to 3.5.8, and everything is ok.

    One more thing: this issue does not appear for me, as an admin logged-in user. For all other instances, it does.

    Hey there!

    Can you test this on the site you’re seeing the issue with a different theme active on it (like Storefront) and then see if that helps.

    There’s also an issue with some of the themes (mostly with displays issues) that is being addressed in an update.

    Changed the theme to Twenty Nineteen (WordPress default), still get the issue. So it’s definitely not theme-related.

    So weird! Can you please share a copy of your site’s System Status so we can learn a bit more about your environment?

    You can find it via WooCommerce > Status > Get system report and then “Copy for support”.? Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

    Hi Elvira,

    This is an older version of Woocommerce (3.5.8), of course. I can’t update to the latest versions (3.6.0 – 3.6.2) because customers would not be able to place an order!

    If the drop-down does not work, customers can’t see any choice for delivery, so it’s game over! The store would become unusable, this is how bad this bug is!

    I totally get that, do you have a staging site where you can disable all other plugins, switch your theme to Storefront, and update your WooCommerce core version?

    This way we will be able to exclude any kind of conflict as a root cause.
