Couple of Iffies
-
A couple of iffie account set-ups:
VK declares that ‘Please do not copy data from the address bar for third party sites. Thus, you may lose access to your account.’
I’ve read elsewhere in this support forum that one user got banned from VK for auto-posting, yet VK has no problems with auto-posting from Blog2Social.
Is it an issue with the plugin, or with Russia?
REDDIT seems to be having problems in working out my subreddit (nothing available in the dropdown box) after verification.
How do I get access to my subreddit?
-
To clarify:
Someone did NOT get banned from VK for auto-posting, it was Reddit.
Then again, there are no problems with auto-posting to Reddit and subreddits from Blog2Social.
Having been onto the free full demo website, I was actually able to locate my subreddit using the search box, but this search box does not work on the lite version.
Similarly, on the free full demo website, VK would not let me in, stating that ‘Please do not copy data from the address bar for third party sites. Thus, you may lose access to your account.’
ALSO:
Is there a way to stop commas publishing without a load of Won &8127 Play &8211 mish-mashes?
Hi there!
1) FS Poster uses the official VK API to add accounts to the plugin and the API provides 2 methods. In the 1st method, that message does not appear, the API gives access, and can automatically fetch access_token. The 1st method of VK allows you to get a short-term token, a few hours. If we did that, you would have to delete and re-add your account every 1 hour. That is why we use the 2nd method. The implicit method is developed by VK and is a completely official method. The alert says that you should not copy this URL to another third-party site you don’t know, yes it is true. Because if you copy it to other websites, they will have your lifetime access token. In this case, you copy the URL and add it to your personal site. That URL is stored in your database, not ours. Some other auto-posting services ask you to copy the URL to their services. This is actually insecure for your account because your access token is on their server; your data is in their hands. On the other hand, our plugin works independently from your server. All data is stored on your own server, in your database. We do not have access to your data and do not collect your data.
2) The subreddit issue will be fixed shortly.
3) It seems that you have a plugin or theme that converts commas to the code on your server or your server configuration has this option to convert them. FS Poster shares them correctly.
Could you deactivate all plugins on your website, except FS Poster, and re-try this issue? If your issue is solved, please activate the plugin one by one and try at each of them. In this way, you can clarify which plugin you have caused this problem.
Best Regards,
FS Poster. The VK issue has something wrong with it then, as even in the main demo website, there is only one option to choose.
I’ll trust that you are correct in another plugin causing the comma mish-mashes and I’ll check that out when I get home.
Right I’m back a little quicker, as I was able to borrow a works computer.
I removed all plugins and themes by using the Troublshooting plugin, and enabled just FS Poster lite.
Sent a tweet to my account and the comma mish-mashes were still there, so it’s not a conflict with another theme or plugin.

OK, I’ve sorted out the VK account, as seen by your youtube video on it.
It sort of goes against the grain and best practices to copy a URL that is above a notice saying ‘Please do not copy data from the address bar for third party sites. Thus, you may lose access to your account.’ so the description of access here needs a little work.
Speaking of the VK account though, it’s not inserting the correct image.
Instead of inserting the post/page featured image, for some unexplained reason, it’s pulling in the main website homepage featured image.
Is there a way around this latest issue?
*EDIT*
Scrub that last issue, it must have just been the first run.
Works fine now.
VK provides those two methods for developers and we use only the second method to add accounts to the plugin. We do not use the 1st method and we do not provide this method to users as it is boring to add accounts every hour.
I shared a post with a comma using the FS Poster lite version and it shared the comma as a comma, note as a code. Screenshots:

Instead then of adding a comma, try adding an apostrophe (ie won’t) and a colon (ie play:) with a semi-colon (ie this issue;) to try and recreate the Twitter issue.
The issue happened to a few customers so far and is all caused by another plugin or website configuration. FS Poster does not have such kind of issue as shown in the video: https://www.screencast.com/t/CVFWnj4Bjx
Here’s a screencast of me trying to share to Twitter, with everything except FS Poster turned off (ie in troubleshooting mode):
Looking over your screencast, can you try adding a featured image to your post with colons, semi-colons and apostrophes in it, as even though you’ve added a featured image in the screencast, the image is not showing on the shared feed?

It is not only plugins that can cause the issue. It might be a theme or Website security configuration. Some themes, plugins, or website developers decode those characters. It does not happen only on your website, many people have the issue and you need to contact your hosting provider or website developer to fix it: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/4086717/why-do-symbols-like-apostrophes-and-hyphens-get-replaced-with-black-diamonds-on
Our website is a test website so Twitter cannot fetch the image from the post but the image is there.
Sorry then, FS Poster is unusable as it stands.
I’ve been onto your Twitter account too, and there are no images on there, yet YouTube videos seem to post.
There’s really no way to post images from your test account onto Twitter?
I was able to post using a staging site!
This would be the way that a plugin developer for an auto poster would be able to iron out any problems I’d have thought.
If I went to my hosting provider or my website developer, they’d immediately ask to see an auto-posted post or page that is working correctly.
The image is not really there actually – you just get taken to a page on your website which doesn’t really work.
Are there any Twitter accounts that have been posted to by FS Poster, using the default Twitter app that FS Poster supplies, containing colons, semi-colons, or apostrophes together with a large featured image, that I can show to my hosting provider?
Checking on the stack overflow link, I can confirm that my encoding is indeed UTF-8
The image is not the point here. The text is necessary and here is the video demonstrates that we shared a post with an image: https://www.screencast.com/t/NxzOGGHia
The characters are as they should be, not coded. Please provide these links to the developer so that they can fix the issue on your website.

Shared Twitter post link: \https://twitter.com/Mark85339074/status/1491391837378162695I actually posted a post with an image earlier (the one with the semi-colons) and it seemed to post perfectly – until you actually looked at the image and it was just that – no link back to the post.
This was done on your own demo website.
If I do decide to go pro, and it doesn’t work properly, and my domain host developers cannot make head nor tail of it all, am I eligible for a refund?
If you wanted to check out the feed, its HERE (NSFW)

We refund according to the Envato refund policy: https://codecanyon.net/page/customer_refund_policy
Best Regards,
FS Poster.
