    Hi, trying your plugin out.

I added a downloadable file and display it through a category shortcode. If I click on the file name in the box the download starts. But if I click on the button on the right (looking like google drive), I get a “403 Forbidden Access to this resource on the server is denied!”. And when I open the Media Library I see an error message next to the file I made a download with “Error: There was an error and your request was not processed. (filenamn.pdf: Could not download file (403 Forbidden).)”

Second, would it be possible to set a unique slug to the downloads? The /bdf-download/ doesn’t really work for me (Swedish site).

I see on the server that the plugin copies or moves the file, if it already exists in the upload directory, to it’s own folder. Is that really necessary? Is it copied or moved?

    Hi,

I’m not sure what’s going on for you but I’m running the plugin on a number of sites with no download errors.

The files are stored in the uploads folder, just like any WP media library file.

If you would like a different slug, just use the category function and you can set any ol’ slug you like.

If you want to send me some screenshots or a URI, I can try to help if you like.

    Cheers

    Nik

Thanks for the quick reply. I have Shortpixel installed and it most likely tried to compress the PDF. Might have been a clash between plugins there. I disabled this plugin and moved to another. If more people have this problem perhaps a pattern can emerge. Else, you are not to blame.

I wish you a good St Lucia’s day
