Couple of questions regarding wordpress

    Im a newbie to wordpress and blogs but an old dude in general web technologies.

    Couple of questions, im finding difficult to find the answer to in the comprehensive help:

    1) Is the admin email displayed anywhere public or is it only used to notify the admin of certain actions ? Also are notifications default sent with sendmail ?

    2) It seems that uploads are stored in the filestructure, so for a complete daily backup, you would need a backup for the DB and the wordpress folder, correct ?

    3) Id like to replace the standard theme with another theme. Is there anything, functionality wise, that i should be concerned about ? (Usually templates do not mess with functionality, but you never know ??

    As previously said, im not a newbie to IT and I know how to search, but im having difficulty in finding the answers. If you are not bothered with replying with a long text, please post a link to the relevant sections where i can read up on the specific question.

    Thats probably it for now, but more questions will pop up later. Thanks in advance for the help.

    1) Shouldn’t be.

    2) Yes, but your host should provide you with a backup procedure. Most hosting backends have something built in that will allow you to do it all at once.

    3) Shouldn’t although not every theme designer knows what they’re doing if you catch my meaning. ?? You may have to play with a theme for a bit to get it to work to your liking.
