I hope you can lend a bit of insight:

Yes, I have the dreaded wp-unite plugin working, but the main issue w/ it is that I cannot logout of wp either as admin or as a user when it’s activated. When I click “Disable” within the wp-united section of wp, it instantly resolves the problem and am able to logout of wp.

I haven’t gotten any help from the developer so I’m hoping your plugin will do the trick. BUT first a few questions:
    1. I disabled user registration in phpbb3 (3.0.12) because of spam and we just don’t need it. The ONLY way we want a user added to phpbb is through a bridge plugin (hopefully yours!). When a member is added to dap (Digital Access Pass- membership plugin), a user is added to wp automatically after they log via dap for the first time, and THEN a user is created in phpbb once they then go to the forum. QUESTION: will your plugin add a user to phpbb once they are a subscriber in wp AND then log into the membership site AND then go to the forum? This is what wp-united does and this is GOOD.

    2. Any issues w/ using your plugin w/ wordpress 4?

    3. I’m very nervous about uninstalling the wp-united plugin based on your read me file’s warnings, so if you have any additional notes about it I would really appreciate it. ??

    Thanks!
    Carl

    1) Yes. When a newly-created WordPress user goes to phpBB for the first time, they will see a “user integration” page. It gives them the choice of logging in (if they are already a member) or having their account integrated (if they are not a member).

    2) BridgeDD is fully compatible with WP4.

    3) You have every right to be nervous. However, if you disable WP-United in WordPress, then uninstall the WP-United MOD in phpBB, then deactivate the WP-United plugin in WordPress, you will eliminate most of the problems. Just make sure to delete any stray files in the includes/hooks directory in phpBB.

You really should become a member of my support board:

You will find a pre-release version of BridgeDD 1.3, which is a major upgrade to the current-releast 1.2.7. You must be a member to access the forum where BridgeDD 1.3 can be downloaded.

    Thanks Dion ??

In response to your response to question 1: is there a way for them to NOT have the choice? I need for them to absolutely be integrated by default.

ALSO: will this work even though I have user registrations disabled in phpbb (to avoid spam)?

    Thank you thank you!

In addition to the above post,

Question: For members to login to the site, I have to use the membership software (Digital Access Pass) login to work, which then logs the user into wp … will it then also log them into the forum since they are logged into wp?

Oh, and I just registered to your site as recommended

With BridgeDD 1.3, a new registration in WordPress will automatically generate a new account in phpBB, and the two accounts will be integrated.

Users who were present when BridgeDD was installed will still see the integration screen. It is possible, however, to import your WP-United user integration data into BridgeDD. At that point no one would see the integration page.

The import process consists of two SQL statements in phpMyAdmin. I’d be happy to share them with you on my support board. ??

    Hi Dion ??
Thanks for your response .. I’m not totally clear yet though ..

    1. I mentioned that I disabled user registration within phpbb … will your plugin still work?

    2. Is there any way of having it so it integrates a user when they visit the forum WITHOUT asking them? I really need this to be automated without the NEW user needing to decide anything.

    Make sense?

    Thanks!

    1) Yes. BridgeDD forces you to choose between WordPress and phpBB registration, and it will work fine with either choice.

    2) Yes, with BridgeDD 1.3.
