Hi, I am trying to create a coupon for first time customers that spend over £20. The code says it is applied in both cart and checkout, however the subtotal doesn’t change and the customer still has to pay full price. The settings I have used are shown here: https://snipboard.io/lJcSEn.jpg

(It currently says the coupon code already exists as I have deactivated it and created a temporary code in default Woocommerce coupons while I look into this issue.)

The customer should receive 10% off for their first purchase when using the coupon code. Why would it be showing as full price?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We understand that you have a query regarding the Discount Rules for Woocommerce plugin, and specifically the ability to select or enter the same coupon code as with Woocommerce.

We have a workaround solution that we think may be of help in this case:

Step 1: Go to Woocommerce -> Marketing -> Coupons

Step 2: Select the created “Hello10” coupon code and set percentage discount as “0” -> https://nimb.ws/XmKevu

Step 3: From rules -> Additional condition -> select woocommerce coupon -> https://nimb.ws/elkaOW (add other conditions like first order and subtotal)

This will allow the first order discount to be applied for new users. As a test, it should work when the customer logs in or enters their email at checkout.

Moreover, here is a guide with an example similar to what you may require:
    https://docs.flycart.org/en/articles/4206683-how-to-provide-first-order-discount-2-0

We hope this guide is helpful in resolving the issue.

    Best regards,

That’s great, thank you so much! It worked.

Just on the off chance, is there a way to make it so the coupon isn’t applied in the cart if the user has ordered before? So if they have ordered before and they try to add the coupon, a message would appear saying it is for first time customers only? Or failing that, since the coupon applies in the cart but the subtotal isn’t changed until checkout, can a message appear saying the discount will be applied once they enter an email at checkout? Just to make sure they don’t assume the code doesn’t work.

    Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me.

Here is a link to a snippet that can help you to customize/ hide the coupon message: https://gist.github.com/Kowsaliya/c307fa78eb0a2c2b6d1fed2c73e30048.

While this will help you with your customization, I’m sorry to say that it is not possible to use the above snippet to check conditions of each rule as per your requirement.

Thank you so much for your valuable feedback on this. ??

We truly appreciate it and will use your input to help us improve our upcoming versions.

    Thank you,

    Team Flycart
