Coupons discount logic

Hello i was searching for similar topic but couldnt find any. If there is one please share link to avoid repeatable questions.

I use woocommerce for years and didnt notice how your coupon system works till now. I rarely use it and never paid attention to it. So to the point. I have created 2 coupons one for cart worth of $50 and one for any products worth of $50. When created test orders with each coupon i notice that discount is applied to products in both orders. I was expecting that there will be total discount at the bottom when its cart discount put looks like its applied among the products spliting it equaly. Is there something that i have missed or this is intended way to work ? If so what is the logic behind it ?
