cover photo becomes blurry

Tins seems that the problem come with the fact of UM resize photo who aren’t on the good size when upload.
It change the resolution for 96×96 (I can see in the so-content upload) and blurred the image

Could you please provide a screenshot of the UM Upload settings? Please go to WP Admin > Ultimate Member > Settings > General > Uploads. You can upload the screenshot via imgur.com and then share the image URL here so we can review it.

Make sure that ‘imagick’ and ‘gd’ PHP extensions are enabled

How I can see if imagick and GD are enabled ?

Do you have access to the web server cPanel?

Software -> Select PHP Version -> Extensions

Install the health check plugin: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/health-check/

Then, TOOLS -> SITE HEALTH and look on the “INFO” tab.

I have added an UM new feature request for getting Install Info without any other plugin installation or access to the web server cPanel.

Currently only GD installation is tested: UM Settings -> Install Info

I recommend you to increase the upload file size from 1000000 ( 976 Kbyte )
to at least 10485760 ( 10 Mbyte ) as users want to upload pictures from their mobiles without reducing the image size before upload.

The “Cover Photo Minimum Width (px)” you have set to 1000 why not 1200 which is your target image size.

Add to the text “Upload profile cover here” that the minimum size width is 1200px.

I fixed the issue for the cover photo which now appears sharp but still not for the profile photo which becomes slightly blurry when uploaded.

If I go to the member’s files folder and delete the file profile_photo-250×250 that was created to leave only the file: profile_photo

Then the photo becomes clear again.

I also give you a preview of the files in the downloaded folder.
The problem is that if I increase the size of the profile picture we have the same problem again but with the new size.

Could you please try adding back the default Profile photo sizes? Let’s see if the issue still occurs.

Here are the default Profile Photo sizes:
– 40
– 80
– 190
