    Thank you for your plugin.
I want to know the solution to the problem that has occurred to me.

    1. I’m using an ‘Anspress’ question plugin.(Post type=question)
    2. I set the Post type to query in the form and chose one category in ‘Search Questions of Only Selected Taxonomies’.
    3. However, this setup didn’t respond to me at all.
    4. The search results showed all the categories were searched.(The other taxonomy ‘tag’ was tested, but it also did not work.)
    5. I’ve tried setting up ‘Excludes’. The same was not applied.
    6. I set the Post type to post and tried the above setting. Fortunately, the search results were normally searched by the category I set.
    7. As a result, I made a tentative decision that it was not compatible with Anspress.
    8. Can you review this problem for me?

    9. (Add note) After Anspress modified the ‘exclude_from_search’ setting from ‘true’ to ‘false’, the post type could be selected.

    10. (Add note) Then, I changed to WordPress theme(Twenty Seventeen) and tested it. After disabling all the plugins, I went ahead with the test. All tests also did not work.

    11. (Add note) But, The CPT in my theme(mylisting) worked perfectly.

    Thank you for your help.

I hope you are well today and thank you for your question.

I understood your problem that it works fine with default post types and custom post types created by your theme but not by the Anspress plugin.

It seems something is wrong with how Anspress plugin creates post type and taxonomies causing this issue but I don’t know exactly the reason as I am not that plugin developer and is not familiar with its code.

Could you please contact the Anspress plugin support to know why only that plugin is not working?

    Best regards,

Hi, thank you for your answer.

After the question, I looked at a number of things to find out why, and I found one thing in common. And I have a question about this.

    1. This problem was not only caused by the Aspress plugin.
    2. The same problem has occurred with plugins with different post types.
    3. However, the post type and post of the theme work normally with the Ivory Plugin.
    4. The difference was the page with search results.
    5. Plugin had its own search results page, and in this case, all the Ivory Plugins did not work.
    6. I think this is the cause, but I don’t know how to solve it because I’m not good at programming.
    7. Is this Ivory Plugin working on a search result page for plugin that has a separate UI rather than a theme?
    8. If it works, what is the way I should take action?

    Can you check this problem?
    Thank you for your help.

Plugin had its own search results page,

Which plugin are you referring to here?

The Ivory Search plugin doesn’t have its own search results page but uses theme search results page.

Could you please describe it a bit more in detail by sharing the screenshots and your website URL where you are using it?

For screenshots, you can simply provide a link to an image through Google Drive, Dropbox, screencast.com, https://imgur.com/ or other image service. ??
