CPT posts not showing in Latest Posts block

Looks like it’s just not something that Editor block is set up to do. According to https://toolset.com/2020/08/how-to-design-your-truly-custom-latest-posts-block/ it’s limited to just the “post” post type, unless it has some hidden filters or similar to customize the post type used. So not necessarily much we can do here.

I had the same issue but solved it using the below code (I used the Code Snippet plugin to add it). List your custom post types in the array.

function custom_post_in_home_loop( $query ) {
if ( is_home() && $query->is_main_query() )
$query->set( ‘post_type’, array( ‘post’, ‘CPT’) ); // replace deals with your CPT name
return $query;
}
add_filter( ‘pre_get_posts’, ‘custom_post_in_home_loop’ );

@tw2113 I didn’t have any success with that code but ended up using Custom Post Type Widget Blocks plugin which did the job I needed.

Sounds good, and glad a solution of some sort was found.
