CPU exceeded – MySQL error
-
My wordpress blog (found at drvino.com) has had six CPU exceeded outages from my host (Bluehost) in the past 24 hrs. They are all related to slow MySQL queries. To determine which processes are the root of the problem, I have to go into the mysql_slow_queries folder, which is so large that it crashed my browser. I went back again and there seem to be problems related to comments. I get a lot of spam: is there a known problem with Akisment? Should I install a kaptcha?
The redirection plugin also appeared to be causing problems. I disabled it.
I am running wp-supercache.
I followed the comments on this thread and the one linked at the bottom. I took many of the indicated steps and things were running fine for a brief while but then got another CPU timeout.
I suspect it might be the search function that is the cause of much of this. Many URLs with a ?s=searchterm appear to have been indexed in google.
My host told me to “optimize” my database and pointed me to this document but I don’t know how to do any of it.
