• I run a program that tracks attempted hacks daily and blocks their IP after X number of hits (set it to three attempts to get in).

Not all try “admin.” I see admin1, user1, boss and more. Glad I use a word not in the dictionary of letters and numbers.

Just got email for attempts to crack yesterday — on a site not yet public! Not even open yet they try…

    It’s sad yet amusing

Nice to see someone following best practice rules when it comes to selecting a good password. ??

This program of yours – is it a plugin or is it a custom script that sits before WordPress?

I’m amazed at how many are “hacked” then their password is dog, password, computer or wordpress. And their login is always admin

I use a program I found online. I won’t advertise it here but you can PM me for info. I don’t use their affiliate program.

I just realized I login from my WP admin; under “settings” it’s listed, so it may be a plugin.

If it’s a plugin, you can link to it here. Go to your plugins page and look for it ??
