• Even if I chose Dropbox for backups and authorized everything, Updraft plus kept backing up on my host’s server. Filled up drive space, and crashed my website. Twice. I’m uninstalling now.

    Hi Etienne,

Please do use the support forum if you have a problem:

All zip-file-based backup solutions necessarily have to:
    1) Create the zip file in your disk space, then
    2) Send it to Dropbox

This is necessary, because Dropbox only provides an interface to receive a complete zip file – you can’t send it the files to go in it, and have Dropbox re-construct it.

As such, if you have inadequate disk space to create a backup, you can’t use a zip-based backup solution. That’s not an UpdraftPlus flaw; you’ll get it with every zip-based solution. Also useful:

    Best wishes,
    David

OK, I got it. I guess it’s a limitation of your plug-in, still. But thx.
