Crashes my site – beyond even normal Updraft restore

    After I installed WP Total Cache there is a box at the top of the window that says “You can now keep W3 Total Cache up-to-date without having to worry about…” In the lower right corner is a button that says “Hide This Message”. When I click on this button my admin screen goes white. If I back click I am returned to my admin screen bu I also no longer get my list of Installed Plugins. Other things are crippled as well. I am now doing an Updraft restore. Of course this has crashed my site so badly that updraft doesn’t work and I will have to re-install WordPress. Fortunately, I have my backups.
