• This plugin caused the website to crash, it altered the htaccess file in its own way which we had to figure out & reset ourselves. Then it kind of hacks the xml sitemap & robots.txt file, and there is no way you can undo it. Have removed the plugin, even manually deleted the file it created, and flushed the database tables, but it still exists.

    Hello,

Thank you for your feedback and I’m really sorry about this.

I’m surprised, as this has never happened to any of our other users. Theoretically, if you deactivate SEOKEY, the robots.txt file and htaccess revert to the default ones, just like for the native sitemaps files.

As far as sitemaps and robots.txt files are concerned, we do indeed physically create these files. The advantage of this is simple: it speeds up Google Bot’s crawl speed (in our tests, Google goes 10 to 60 times faster to read our files.

Can we talk about this in further details to find out the cause of the issue, so that we can correct any incompatibilities?

Thanks in advance for your feedback.
