• I apologize if this is a repeat post…it seems to be a common issue when I try to google a solution, but I’m at a loss for a fix

    Here are my pingdom results:

My page performance scores on both Pingdom and GTmetrix are all 90+. The long load time is simply a result of the “waiting”. The test above was done with no active plug-ins besides W3 Total Cache. I am using the Customizr theme but experienced the same issue when I switched to Twenty Thirteen. I’ve spent the last week messing with plugins, themes, trying to optimize CSS, JS, etc…and I’m beyond frustrated.

Originally I thought it may be a hosting issue but from what I’ve read it sounds more like a plugin/coding issue. I do have iPage hosting if that makes a difference. The site itself is https://www.getgolfed.com. Any help would be appreciated…I’m about to quit on WP altogether.

  • The site loads fairly snappily for me. Did you fix it?

Not that I’m aware of. I posted about this somewhere else too and it loaded quick for some people and terribly slow for others. It might not be AS bad right now either since there are zero plugins active.

My real concern is that speed test websites are showing crazy wait times. That pingdom result was damn near 80% “wait” time I think.

I was just using https://www.pagescoring.com/website-speed-test and got some times around 1 second…and then I would get “couldn’t connect to host” when I tried right after that. Maybe it is a hosting issue after all…I have no idea.
