    Hi,
Does creating a blocking rule requires premium? I am using the free version, and in the blocking page, under create a blocking rule, I have the choice between clicking on IP Address, country, or custom pattern. However, no matter what I click, nothing happens (I would have expected a field to pop up to put the information in it? I am seeking to create a custom pattern to block certain hostnames (I am getting about 100 login attempts everyday on my website from fully different IP address, but often the same hostnames).

  • In “free” version, you should get obvious options that open up when you click on “Custom Pattern.” If not, there is something wrong with your Wordfence installation or:

You might need to check the “All Options” page, under “View Customization.” Perhaps you’ve got something not checkmarked.

    Hi @durand04

These options are part of the free version of the plugin.

To eliminate your browser please clear all cookies and cache and also disable all browser extensions. Alternatively try from a different browser.

If that doesn’t help please run through these debugging instructions. We often see a conflict generated by a theme or a plugin loading JavaScript on Wordfence admin pages when that shouldn’t be happening:

Feel free to take a screenshot of any errors that you see in your browser developer tools console tab and provide it via an image sharing service link here.

    Thank you.

    Hi @durand04,

Since I haven’t heard back from you I am assuming that the instructions solved your issue so I am marking this topic as resolved.

If however, for whatever reason, you are still experiencing this issue and it is not resolved please respond to the post, which moves it back up the queue, and mark this topic as “not resolved”.

    Thank you.
