    Hi!

Scenario: A user posts a comment for an article (which is the first comment for this article) I have written, and when he/she has done that I want it to become a thread/forum-post in the forum, in the section All Posts (or as it says in Swedish “Alla inl?gg”). That way the conversation can be found even in the forum AND in the posts comment-section…

Is this possible? Please, I hope it is…

    Hi there!

It absolutely is possible. On the page editor for your forum page, there is actually a checkbox in the Muut panel “Access Comments from navigation” (screenshot). That will add a link to the forum navigation on your forum page to access all the comments. Even without that, actually, users who are commenting on posts can already access those threads when they are logged in under the My Feed tab on the forum. They won’t show under All Posts (users who aren’t already commenting might not know what a thread is about), but they’ll still be accessible in that Channel in the forum navigation and users who are commenting on them will of course be notified and can access them under “My Feed”.

Let me know if you run into any other questions! ??

    Ok!

Well, I don’t think it would hurt to make it a choice for the admin: that when a comment is submitted for the first time for an article, the article with the comment becomes a forum-post with the articles name. So in that way, the first comment is a starting point for a real forum discussion.

But thank you so much Paul. It is very rare to get an reply like this, as quick and informative!

    Thank you again!

    No prob! ??

And thanks for the input! Always glad to hear about the use cases people have. Since Muut is a very open system (not inherently tied to WordPress), there’s often some jiggering involved (and indeed possible!) to get things working just as people like in their individual situations. The ability to tie the commenting on posts better with accessing them in the forum UX is something definitely that we’re wanting to improve, but it does bring along a lot of other stuff to handle for administrators, and verifying that they are proper embeds, and to deal with changing URLs, etc. ?? So, it’s something that isn’t on our short list, but is definitely something we’re into making even better for blog implementations.

    Thanks again!
