Create a free account… and then pay for it ?!

User beware: this particular plugin is only good for integrating Google reviews via a connected Google account – and nothing else. It entices you to create a trustindex account for your site, which is “free”, and then you can aggregate reviews from their site – in theory. But what it really means is that you get a 7 day trial period which is not really mentioned anywhere, and then the widget from their site stops working until you subscribe for a plan.

I grant there are some nice features in the trustindex back-end when you create the (free but not really useful) account. The widget itself is well designed and customizable, and it doesn’t slow the page load since it loads itself async (at the cost of some layout shift) – but overall I think the approach is very misleading. It is clearly designed for very limited functionality unless you subscribe.
