Create a Menu on Theme Activation

  • Hello! I’m developing a theme an I want to create a Main Menu in my theme upon theme activation. Is there anyway I can do this?

  • You will probably have to hard-code the menu – inside a conditional if you want the user to be able to replace the menu’s content with widgets or a custom menu.

    This is a bad idea. Why would you create a menu on Theme Activation? You have no idea what the end user would want to include in the menu.

    Because i’m developing a theme just for one client, and they have all the pages they need in the menus from mockup that’s why I want to pre-populate those menus with their actual menu’s from pages that i will also also generate on theme activation.
