Hi, I’m trying to setup a multisite. I have the multisite enabled in my wp-config file. To create a network, it is supposed to be done under tools > network setup and here’s what I got https://prnt.sc/1078usb Warning: Please deactivate your plugins before enabling the Network feature.

I would like to ask if there’s a workaround with this without actually deactivating the plugins? I’ve tried deactivating all plugins but the site went down. Deactivating plugins even for a short while will destroy the site and won’t be able to access even the dashboard.

Is there any safe way to setup the network? or any ideas to make it work.

    Will appreciate any help. Thanks.

You need to figure out why the site crashes with the plugins disabled as the WordPress core needs to run without any outside props…

You do not want to perpetuate a problem onto a multisite where it might be even more of a problem as the site becomes more complicated.

My first impulse is to swap out the theme for a generic theme like TwentySeventeen and disable the plugins. If WordPress won’t run from there without a hitch then you need to reinstall the WordPress itself and/or figure out what might be causing the issues.

Look at your server and PHP version and carefully compare the specs…

For my own Multisite systems I won’t build on anything but Apache on Linux and I’m partial to MariaDB. No Windows! No Nginx! and No compromises.
